Customisation in games is cool and all and everyone enjoys being able to customise their shit in games. But I didn't know so many people would make different suggestions for customising. I mean seriously you wanna customise cars, clothes, some wants to ability to draw on a bit of facial hair. I mean fuck what's next? Ability to customise your hairstyle and the fucking sky?
I want to tell you some reasons why your ideas (which are good in theory), is a bad idea for mtarp.
To start off with. Changing or adding something visually is done with textures. (That's that magic that makes pictures as the visual of an object in the game so it's not all just gray.)
So let's go, my reasons why the ideas should not happen.
1. Someone will have to upload these textures to the server. Meaning someone with ftp access needs to add it and restart the resource for it to come in.
2. This is a mta role playing community, not deviantart. People here aren't normally graphical prodigies. I think only a few people would make something that looks good. (Not meant as an offense, I suck at graphics myself.)
3. This part is really important guys. This is worth noting.
Every time u want something in the game, and let's face it, if you can customise shit, everyone will wanna do it. For every single one of their 2000 characters they got on their account. Everyone will have something. Now think what kind of a mother load of fucking textures that will be. Think about the download speed. And I see a lot of you want a better player base. Think anyone is gonna join for the first time if the download is like downloading nsa's logs of your porn history? No they won't. You think nobody cares about the download? Why does no server skin every single car in the game then? There's plenty of sexy car skins to skin every car of the game with. Because if they did that they would enjoy those sexy cars alone cuz nobody is gonna join that shit.
And don't come with like "could make a limit per account tjough" oh yeah? Let's limit it to 2 textures per account. And then u leave the server but ur skin is still in and new people upload theirs and woops same problem again.
Now don't take this as an announcement. I'm not the developer nor staff at mtarp and it's not my decision. I'm just explaining that it's a bad idea and you should rather use your mind to request something else that can enhance the roleplay experience.
